Andreas Schaflitzl specialises in national and international transaction-related tax law, including real estate transfer tax law, restructuring and joint ventures. Over the past 25 years, he has advised on numerous transactions, corporate restructurings, acquisition financings and real estate transactions.
Work Highlights
- BNP Paribas: Advising on various transactions, including the acquisition and sale of various properties, such as Hanse Atrium, DVP Deichtorcenter, Gabrielen Lofts in Hamburg and Franklin Haus in Berlin.
- Citibank: Advising on the sale of the German retail banking business to Crédit Mutuel.
- David Lloyd Leisure: Advising on the acquisition of the Meridian Spa & Fitness Group.
- Linden: Advising on various transactions, tax issues, acquisitions and sales, including: the acquisition of the continental European homecare business of Air Products and Chemicals Inc., the sale of parts of the company resulting from the merger with Praxair to a consortium consisting of the Messer Group and the financial investor CVC Capital Partners Fund VII.
- McKesson Corporation: Advising on the joint venture with the US pharmaceutical service provider Walgreens Boots Alliance on the merger of the German pharmaceutical wholesale business.
- Novartis: Advising on the spin-off and sale of the German flu business.
- OSRAM: Advising on the partial restructuring of the procurement division and the spin-off and sale of the lamp business "Ledvance" to a Chinese consortium of investors. Siemens: Advising on the acquisition of Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica SA.
- Unilever: Advising on a global restructuring project that included the worldwide carve-out and separation of parts of the company.
Beyond the Office
Andreas Schaflitzl worked as an associate at the predecessor law firm Oppenhoff & Rädler from 1994. He was appointed Partner at Linklaters in 2003.
He is a member of the IDW Institute of Public Auditors (Working Group of Family Companies), the Audit Committee of the Munich Chamber of Tax Advisors and the Advisory Board of the Munich Tax Conference.
Education and Qualifications
Andreas Schaflitzl graduated from the University of Munich in 1994 with a degree in business administration.
