Overview

Andrew acts for lenders (including banks and alternative credit providers) and borrowers (including corporates and financial sponsors) on a wide range of financing transactions across the credit spectrum, including leveraged and acquisition finance, investment grade lending, real estate finance, debt restructuring and Islamic finance.

Andrew leads the firm’s Abu Dhabi banking practice and co-heads the firm’s Abu Dhabi office.

Prior to his relocation to the Middle East in 2015, Andrew practised in the London market and has also spent time in the firm’s New York office.

Andrew has spent time on secondment to the leveraged and acquisition finance teams at both HSBC and Nomura in London.

Work highlights

Andrew has led, or been a key advisor, on many notable financing transactions. These include advising:

  • the arrangers on a US$3.1bn facility for Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA)
  • the arrangers on the AED3bn and US$200m facilities for Majid Al Futtaim
  • Emirates NBD on its US$1.7bn facility
  • the arrangers on a US$525m facility for bank muscat
  • the arrangers on a US$430m facility for Nebras Power

 

Professional experience

Andrew regularly speaks at Loan Market Association (LMA) events in the Middle East.

Education and qualifications

Andrew studied law at the University of Leeds and holds a master of laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
