Overview

Cosima is a Managing Associate in our London-based Trusts team.

Cosima's internationally oriented work focuses on advising commercial, trustee and individual clients on a full range of trusts law and administration, trust-related tax planning and traditional private wealth and charities issues.

The Trusts team have developed many unique and innovative trust and trust-based solutions for clients, leveraging their knowledge of trust law with commercial objectives to deliver clear, practical and often creative strategies for clients.

Work Highlights

Advising SoftBank Vision Fund I in relation to its US$16bn disposal of its stake in Arm Limited.
Advising the FIA in relation to the European Agent-Trustee Model, a new client clearing model for Europe.
Advising on an innovative transaction involving the creation of a trust-based loan origination and sub-participation structure for a major bank (c. US$250m).
Advising on the re-structuring of a private equity business through a sale from its current trust-owned holding companies to a new foundation vehicle.
Advising several online investment trading platforms in relation to the structuring and taxation of their custody and brokerage businesses.

Experience

Cosima volunteers with the firm's trainee mentoring scheme, and regularly delivers internal and external training sessions.

Beyond the Office

Cosima has a first class degree in Modern Languages from Durham University and completed her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School. She is also a full member of STEP (the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners) and TACT (The Association of Corporate Trustees).
