Overview

Cyril is a Counsel in the Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice of Linklaters in Paris. He advises and represents clients in civil, commercial and criminal matters, and intervenes before the French financial regulator (Autorité des Marchés Financiers).

He has extensive experience in complex domestic and international dispute resolution, with a particular focus on commercial matters, post-M&A disputes, contentious competition and product liability matters.

Work highlights

Cyril has acted for clients in many major disputes. Those that can be disclosed include:

  • An international media outlet: advising and representing the client in the appeal proceedings brought forward against the very first sanction issued by the Enforcement Committee of the Autorité des Marchés financiers (AMF) for alleged market manipulation through dissemination of false information by journalists, alongside organizations advocating for the freedom of the press.
  • A radio broadcasting company: advising and representing the client in the context of an action brought forward before the Commercial Court of Paris by its competitors for alleged unfair competition.
  • A multinational technology company: advising the client in the context of two related disputes brought by its main retailer in France, and by its former managers and shareholders, mainly for alleged abuse of dominant position. The disputes combine competition law, distribution law and private international law.
  • A major outdoor advertising corporation: assisting and representing the client in a post-acquisition ICC arbitration concerning the acquisition of the African pioneer in outdoor advertising. The dispute involved various warranty and specific indemnity claims pursuant to the share purchase agreement.
  • A global multi-metals business: advising the client in the context of several related commercial litigations in France, involving issues of contractual and private international law.
  • Leading medical device manufacturers: advising and representing the clients in various lawsuits brought by patients and insurers before the French courts for the alleged defectiveness of implants.
  • A worldwide leading High-Performance Computing (HPC) manufacturer: advising the client in the context of a claim brought by one of its subcontractors for alleged wrongful termination of long-term supply contracts.

Experience

Cyril joined the Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice of Linklaters in 2017. Prior to joining Linklaters, he worked for a tier one French law firm where he gained valuable experience on a wide range of contentious and transactional matters.

Since 2015, Cyril has been a lecturer in private international law at Paris-Saclay University. He also serves on the organising committee of the Moot Court on Private International Law (Paris-Saclay University and Linklaters).
