Ed is a capital markets Counsel in London having joined the firm in September 2012. He has extensive experience acting on a variety of complex structured financing transactions across multiple asset classes, including products linked to one or more of debt securities, loans, interest rates, commodities, equities, funds and inflation indices. In particular, he has a market-leading specialism on the SPIRE programme, the leading multi-dealer securities platform in the world, advising 19 of the world’s largest banks on their structured financing needs.
Ed has also considerable experience in bespoke securitisation structures focused on wide-ranging aims from capital optimisation to back-leveraged financing for real estate and tech projects. In the past, he has also led on high-profile physical and synthetic exchange-traded platform establishments, including both Granite’s synthetic equities linked offering and Amundi’s physical gold-linked securities programme.
Aside from transactional work, Ed was a key contact to some of the market’s leading institutions on major industry reforms of recent years, including transition projects following Brexit and the cessation of LIBOR.
Ed is consistently recognised in leading directories and was ranked by Chambers UK for Structured Products in both 2025 and 2026.
