Overview

Georgios is a Managing Associate in the Linklaters Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice. He is a dedicated specialist in the field of commercial and investment arbitration and represents multinational companies and states in arbitration proceedings. Georgios’ experience includes involvement in numerous arbitrations conducted under, among others, the ICC, ICSID, LCIA, NAI, SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules, and subject to several applicable laws. He also regularly advises clients in relation to investment treaties and public international law matters.

Georgios is frequently involved in arbitration-related matters, such as setting aside and enforcement proceedings. His experience also includes acting as assistant to arbitrators in commercial and investment arbitrations.

Georgios also has substantial experience in internal and government investigations (e.g. before the SEC and the DoJ).

Georgios is included in the 2025 Lexology Index (formerly known as Who’s Who Legal) as an Arbitration Future Leader in the Netherlands. He has also been named in previous editions of Legal 500 for Arbitration in the Netherlands.

Work Highlights

Georgios’ recent experience includes acting for:

  • the Republic of Poland in an investment arbitration against a Dutch investor in relation to the investor’s expropriation claims;
  • a major UK financial institution in a commercial arbitration against a major Dutch bank in a demerger dispute;
  • a major Chinese online media company in a joint venture dispute against a US software company;
  • Chevron Corporation and Texaco Petroleum Company in setting aside proceedings initiated by the Republic of Ecuador in relation to an arbitral award rendered on the basis of an investment treaty; and
  • Devas’ shareholders in setting aside proceedings instituted by the Republic of India in relation to arbitral awards rendered on the basis of an investment treaty.

Beyond the Office

Georgios regularly publishes and acts as a speaker in relation to international dispute resolution matters. He also serves in the leadership of various international arbitration organisations: he is a board member of ICDR Y&I and Young EFILA. He has also acted as Western Europe Vice-Chair for Young ITA and as a steering committee member of the CIArb Young Members Group.

Next to working at Linklaters, Georgios has also worked for a renowned international arbitration boutique and the legal department of a Dutch multinational.
