Overview

Jonas has specialist experience in German and European data and IT law. He has particular expertise in data protection aspects of new technologies (such as Artificial Intelligence) and regularly advises on complex M&A transactions and carve-outs.

Jonas has been working at Linklaters since 2024.

Experience

TPG and GIC: advising on the acquisition of Techem Group.
Lonza: advising on the sale of the Capsules & Health Ingredients (CHI) business unit.
Montagu: advising on the acquisition of Multifonds, a leading global provider of proprietary investment accounting and transfer agency software, in a carve-out transaction from Temenos AG.
Blacklane: advising on the acquisition by Uber.
Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale and TARGO Deutschland Financial Holding Group: advising on the acquisition of Oldenburgische Landesbank.
Brady Corporation: advising on the acquisition of the Productivity Solutions and Services business unit of Honeywell.
Asahi Group Foods: Advising on the acquisition of the German brewer's yeast company Leiber.
Funke Medien Gruppe: Advising on the acquisition of the titles Brigitte, Gala and Eltern from RTL Germany.

Education, Qualifications and Languages

Jonas studied German Law at Saarland University, where he also obtained a doctoral degree. He also completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Commercial Law at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He completed his legal traineeship at the Saarbrücken Court of Appeal and at the Linklaters office in Frankfurt.

He speaks German and English.
