Overview

Kélian joined Linklaters in 2023 as a member of the Belgian corporate and finance practice. He advises Belgian and international leading corporates on various aspects of corporate law, in both a general and transactional context, including on mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers, operations on equity and corporate advisory.

Kélian is also experienced in business reorganisations and restructurings, with a keen interest in the energy sector, particularly focusing on renewables. 

Work highlights
Kélian has advised on a wide range of major corporate transactions. These include advising: 
  • Dajia Insurance Group: advising, the leading insurance group in China, on the sale of Bank Nagelmackers to the Caisse d'Epargne et de Prévoyance Hauts de France
  • Interparking: advising on the acquisition of substantially all shares of Saba Infraestructuras, S.A. from Criteria Caixa, S.A.U which, in turn, will contribute part of the consideration to the share capital of Interparking
  • Proximus: advising on the closing of the acquisition of a majority stake in Route Mobile Ltd and the related mandatory takeover offer in India, followed by the reinvestment of the founding shareholders in a subsidiary of Proximus, for a total deal value of €1.2bn
  • Euroclear Holding: advising on the cross-border reorganisation of its group holding structure
  • Helexia: advising on the limited-recourse financing of approximately 290 solar PV and energy efficiency projects across France, Italy, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, and Belgium. This is the second tranche of a financing programme structured in 2023, aiming to expand to 600 projects
  • BSTOR: advising on the corporate and finance aspects of two greenfield battery energy storage system (BESS) projects—a 50MW/140MWh project at Duferco in La Louvière and a 100MW/270MWh project in Aubange, in Wallonia, Belgium

Education and qualifications

Kélian holds a Bachelor in Law from Saint-Louis, Brussels and a Double Degree Master of Law from the University of Leuven and the University of Zurich.

Kélian is fluent in English, French, Dutch and Danish.
