Lauri is a senior associate in the Energy and Infrastructure Group at Linklaters, representing lenders and sponsors in renewable energy and infrastructure project development and financing transactions.
Before joining Linklaters, Lauri represented lenders and sponsors in renewable energy and infrastructure project development and financing transactions at another global law firm.
Experience
- Ceyhan PDH-PP: advising the sponsors and project company on all aspects of the development and multi-sourced financing of a c.US$2bn integrated propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene (PDHPP) petrochemical production plant and terminal facility in the CES Industrial Zone, Adana, Turkey, including DFIs, ECAs and a consortium of international and local commercial banks.
- Lotte Chemical Lake Charles: advising the Export-Import Bank of Korea, the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation and a group of commercial banks on a US$1.6bn financing of a petrochemical plant in Louisiana.
- Morgan Stanley Senior Funding, Inc.: advising on a US$856m broadly syndicated TLB provided to New Fortress Energy Inc. (NFE), a Delaware company that builds and operates liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities worldwide to supply natural gas.
- Clean Energy Future-Trumbull, LLC: representation in connection with a US$600m million senior secured term loan to fund the construction and operation of an approximately 950 MW natural gas-fired electric combined-cycle power generation facility located in the Village of Lordstown, Trumbull County, Ohio. The financing was awarded the Power Deal of the Year by IJ Global 2022.
- The lenders: representation in connection with a US$464m construction loan and tax equity bridge loan financing of four utility-scale solar power plants located in North and South Carolina.
- Atlantic Alumina: advising Atlantic Alumina, a company that specializes in mining bauxite in Jamaica and refining it into alumina (a critical mineral) in Louisiana, on a US$450m partnership with the U.S. Department of War and Pinnacle Asset Management to secure U.S. alumina production and build America’s first large-scale primary gallium production circuit.
- The lenders: representation in connection with a US$300m term loan refinancing of a commercial and industrial solar power plant portfolio.
- Talen Energy Corporation and its subsidiary Cumulus Growth Holdings LLC: representation in connection with a senior secured US$175m term loan to fund the construction and operation of the Cumulus hyper-scale data center campus and the bitcoin joint venture known as Nautilus Cryptomine.
- The lenders: representation in connection with a US$127m construction loan, term loan, and tax equity bridge loan financing of two utility-scale solar power plants located in North and South Carolina.
- The lenders: representation in connection with a US$122m construction and tax equity loan for a 103.3 MWdc utility-scale solar power plant with a 72 MWh zinc-based battery energy storage system in South Carolina.
- East West Bank as sole arranger and lender: advising on a US$37m portfolio term financing for two biomass electric generation projects in California and Quebec. The projects are owned by indirect subsidiaries of Greenleaf Power backed by Denham Capital.
- Plenitude through its U.S. subsidiary, Eni New Energy U.S. Inc.: representation in connection with its purchase from EDP Renewables North America LLC of an 80% cash equity interest in a portfolio of three operational solar photovoltaic plants located in Texas and Ohio with an aggregate capacity of 340 MW.
- The sponsor: representation in connection with its purchase of 100% of the equity interests in (a) a 75MWac solar PV power generating facility in South Carolina, and (b) a 100MWac solar PV power generating facility in Michigan.
- The developer: representation in connection with its sale to an Asian investor of 100% of the equity interests in a 125MWac solar PV power generating facility in Texas.
- U.S. Department of Transportation: advising on the financing by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development of a group of road and bridge projects in Louisiana.
- Funds managed by UBS Asset Management on behalf of a large U.S. pension plan: advising in connection with the acquisition of a strategic minority equity interest in Tillman Infrastructure, a leading developer and owner of telecommunication tower infrastructure throughout North America.
- Private equity investor: advising in connection with the proposed acquisition of a 49.9% equity interest in a corporation, which manages, operates and maintains a renovated commercial airport under a 30-year public private partnership.
