Overview

Maxime joined Linklaters in 2023 as part of the Belgian Corporate and Finance Practice. He specialises in corporate transactional work, with a focus on M&A and Private Equity.

Work Highlights 

  • Hg Capital: advising on its investment in Induver and Clover, two independent corporate insurance brokers in Belgium, to create a new insurance broker platform.
  • Waterland: advising on its investment in X2O, the leading retailer of bathroom furniture in the Benelux.
  • Gimv: advising on its investment in the Spice Factory Group, the market leader in private label dried culinary herbs & spices in the Benelux, from Gilde Equity Management.
  • Nayarit Participation: advising Nayarit Participation, the investment vehicle of one branch of the D'Ieteren family, on the acquisition of a controlling stake in D'Ieteren Group through a partial buy-out of the other reference family shareholder, S.P.D.G. SA.
  • Macquarie Asset Management and Canadian pension fund British Columbia Investment Management Corporation: advising on their recommended final cash offer for Renewi plc, a European pure-play recycling and waste-to-product company which is dual-listed on the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Amsterdam.
     

Education and qualifications

Maxime holds a Master of Laws degree from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL). During his Master, he studied at Northwestern University in Chicago and Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome in the framework of an exchange programme.

He also holds an LL.M. degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science

He speaks Dutch, French and English.
