Overview
Mehdi is a corporate/M&A counsel based in Paris.
He advises financial sponsors and corporates on a wide range of cross-border transactions, including M&A, restructuring and refinancing. He has sound experience on deals involving targets in regulated sectors, such as FIG (bank/insurance), renewable energy, biomedical laboratories or higher education. He notably has worked on the first-ever acquisition of a banking group carried out by a financial sponsor in France and subsequent add-on acquisition.
Mehdi has also developed a recognised expertise of African M&A and regularly advises financial sponsors and corporates on their transactions across the continent, especially in North and West Africa.
Mehdi has been seconded for several months to the financial sponsor group of Linklaters in London, where he worked on high profile transactions for blue chip clients.
Work highlights
Mehdi has advised on a number of landmark deals. The most recent include acting for:
- Partners Group on the sale of Cerba HealthCare to EQT Private Equity
- Tenergie, on the investment of the Banque des Territoires (CDC) in Terres d’Energie, a platform owning a portfolio of solar and wind assets of an aggregate installed capacity of c. 500 MW
- PAI Partners on the €1.54bn acquisition of Areas from Elior Group
- Apax Partners on the €800m sale of INSEEC U. to Cinven
- The European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund on its equity investments in several innovative companies across Europe (including CorWave, NIL Technology and Hiber)
- Olam International on the privatisation of several companies operating in the cotton sector in Africa, including in Chad and Togo
