Overview
Patrick is a Managing Associate in our Investment Funds practice in London and has broad experience advising clients on a range of issues in respect of private equity, real assets, credit, infrastructure, venture capital and hedge fund establishment and investment.
Patrick has significant experience acting for sovereign wealth funds and large pension funds on their cross-asset class investment activities.
Patrick also has experience in the democratisation of private funds and has advised clients in relation to the establishment of semi-liquid open-ended products with smaller ticket sizes and regular redemptions.
Patrick has spent nine months at a Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund on secondment as part of their legal team, advising their PE/VC, hedge fund, real estate and healthcare commercial teams on fund investments, separately managed accounts, co-investments and governance issues across a broad range of jurisdictions and asset classes.
Work Highlights
Patrick's experience includes advising:
- Ardian: advising on various fund raises and bespoke mandates focused on secondaries/ continuation vehicles, private equity and infrastructure. Advising on the UK elements of ASF IX, the largest-ever secondaries platform.
- A large Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund: advising on 50+ significant fund investments and co-investments across a broad range of asset classes, including flagship PE/VC, hedge and credit funds.
- British Business Bank and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development: advising on UK and European venture capital and growth equity and debt funds.
- Certain Canadian and European public pension plans, and Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds: advising on investments (including as part of wider corporate arrangements) in private equity, infrastructure and tech/VC funds, co-investments and similar structures.
- iCapital: advising on the establishment of iCapital’s European fintech platform and the structuring and launch of its various fund products, which focuses on providing broader access to the private funds market across a variety of asset classes.
- Morgan Stanley Investment Management: advising on the establishment and ongoing operation of North Haven Secured Private Credit Fund and North Haven Value Add Real Estate Credit Fund and related parallel vehicles and managed accounts.
