Overview
Raoul specialises in the structuring, setting up and distribution of a wide range of investment funds, with a particular focus on alternative investment funds investing in all major asset classes including real estate, debt, private equity, and infrastructure.
He has also gained deep knowledge of retail investment funds (notably UCITS) by advising major global asset managers on their multibillion Luxembourg flagship funds.
In parallel, Raoul advises global financial institutions on a variety of regulatory matters, notably licencing requirements, major financial services regulations (e.g. MiFID, AIFMD, PSD, AML), and Luxembourg regulatory aspects of acquisitions and group restructurings.
Raoul regularly advises on digital assets topics, including on fund tokenisation, crypto assets, and custody of digital assets.

- Commerz Real Fund Management Sarl: advising on its €10bn structuring and establishment of "Klimavest", their first open-ended impact fund for retail investors.
- DigitalBridge Group, Inc: advising on the acquisition of AMP Capital’s Global Infrastructure Equity Investment Management Business, extending DigitalBridge’s leadership in digital infrastructure investment management, already managing a USD 45 bn. portfolio of digital infrastructure assets.
- HgCapital and Montagu Private Equity: advising on the acquisition of controlling stakes in the Waystone Group, a leading provider of institutional management company, governance, risk and compliance services to the asset management industry.
- One of the world's largest real estate investment management firms: advising on the structuring and establishment of a SCSp SICAV-RAIF fund. The fund is a close-ended Luxembourg special limited partnership (société en commandite spéciale) which will pursue a build- or reposition-to-core strategy in key Asia Pacific markets, with a primary focus on Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, China, Australia and New Zealand.
- An investment bank and financial services company: advising this company's Luxembourg AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager) with the authorisation process for a so-called MiFID top-up license, which will allow the latter to provide certain MiFID investment services in addition to their AIFMD authorisations. Advising them as well on the transfer of a range of Irish investment funds from their Irish AIFM to their Luxembourg AIFM.
