Overview

Sofia is a Managing Associate in the corporate practice in Luxembourg. She joined Linklaters in September 2023 after gaining valuable experience at an international law firm in Luxembourg.

She advises international clients on complex cross-border transactions, focusing on private equity investments and corporate restructurings, including value-critical or distressed assets. She also advises on general corporate law and corporate governance matters. Her recent experience includes advising private equity sponsors and other investors on acquisitions, disposals and co-investments across the healthcare and life sciences, software and services, property management, infrastructure and financial services sectors.

Expereince

Montagu Private Equity: advising on the acquisition of Tyber Medical (med-tech) and subsequent combination with Resolve and Intech. This transaction demonstrates Linklaters’ ability to support leading private equity sponsors on complex, strategic healthcare investments, against a backdrop of rapidly growing private equity interest in the sector and builds on our longstanding relationship with Montagu.
EQT Healthcare Growth Fund and EQT Growth Fund: advising on (i) the Luxembourg corporate steps related to the structuring, funding and closing of its acquisition of Europa Biosite, a leading distributor of high-quality life science reagents to academic and biopharma researchers across Europe and North America, and (ii) on the Luxembourg corporate aspects of the structuring and internal funding as well as on the Luxembourg external financing aspects of their acquisition of CluePoints, a company headquartered in Belgium and a premier software provider for RBQM and data quality oversight in clinical trials.
Lecta: advising on the implementation of a comprehensive recapitalisation and corporate reorganisation of Lecta Group into three separate, individually financed business units to strengthen the Group’s liquidity position.
MasOrange: advising on the Luxembourg aspects on the creation of Spain’s largest fiber optic company, through a joint venture with Vodafone Spain and GIC.
Triton Partners: advising on (i) the strategic combination of Assemblin AB and Caverion Oy into a newly formed Assemblin Caverion Group (ii) the sale of Seves Group S.à r.l., the parent company of SEDIVER Group, a provider of specialised electrical insulator solutions for the high-voltage transmission grid, to Blackstone, and (iii) the sale of a majority stake in Kelvion, a leading global provider of energy efficient heat exchange and cooling solutions, to Apollo and rollover by Triton into the new structure as a minority investor.
Hg: advising (i) Hg's portfolio company team.blue NV on its acquisition of Loopia Group, a leading European web service and hosting company, focussed on sustainability and green hosting, (ii) on the strategic divestment of Hg’s remaining 5.5% stake in TeamSystem, a leading Italian provider of accounting, payroll and business management software, to Hellman & Friedman, and (iii) on Hg’s investment in a leading property management (syndic) network in Belgium and Germany with more than 3,400 buildings under management.
Centerbridge Partners Luxembourg S.A R. L.: advising on the sale of its majority interest in APCOA Parking Holdings, the leading parking infrastructure operator in Europe, to affiliates of Strategic Value Partners.

Education, Qualifications and Languages

Sofia holds an LL.M degree from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School together with a Business and Law Certificate from the Wharton School in Philadelphia and a Bachelor and Master of Laws from the University of Turku in Finland. She is a member of the Luxembourg Bar Association (Barreau de Luxembourg, list II).

Sofia speaks English, Finnish, French and Swedish.
