Overview
Tom Quoroll is a partner and co-founder of Applied Intelligence, Linklaters’ multi-disciplinary practice operating at the intersection of law, AI and data science to deliver bespoke solutions to our clients’ most significant problems and opportunities. Prior to co-founding Applied Intelligence with Sarah Barnard in 2026, Tom was a partner in the firm’s structured finance practice where he covered a broad range of complex asset backed financing products, from RMBS and CMBS to esoteric receivable financing, infrastructure financing, loan portfolio sales and financial institution M&A.
In 2019 Tom was seconded as senior European lawyer to a leading private equity firm and has worked in Linklaters’ Tokyo and New York offices, the latter as a partner with a team of London associates engaging with clients investing into Europe.
As Chair of Linklaters’ AI programme, Tom was co-opted to the firm’s Executive Committee in 2026, putting AI at the heart of the firm’s strategy. He has been involved in the adoption and deployment of technology in the practice of law throughout his career, stretching back to early pilots with machine learning solutions for due diligence.
Experience
Tom has worked on some of the most complex and innovative transactions, including advising:
- Acting for Ferovinum on the world’s first asset-backed securitisation of wine and spirits, a $550m programme financed by private credit investors and commercial banks
- Acting for Cerberus on their €1bn co-investment partnership with Intrum for the acquisition of consumer unsecured non-performing loan portfolios across Europe
- Acting for Cerberus on the £4bn TPMF 2019-Granite 4, TPMF 2019-Granite 5 and £640m TPMF 2019-Vantage 2 securitisations
- Acting for various financial sponsors on the acquisition and disposal and financing of portfolios of financial assets in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain and Portugal
- Acting for a large UK bank on the implications of UK ring-fencing legislation for its structured debt business
- Acting for Assured Guaranty on its transferrable custody receipt programme and other bond financial guarantee and liquidity guarantee products across a range of sectors
- Acting for Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners on its acquisition of a majority stake in a Portuguese telecom towers business
- Acting for Visa Europe on an innovative special purpose structure in respect of existing Visa Europe members of its €21bn sale to Visa Inc.
- Acting for Cerberus on the acquisition of a £13bn portfolio of mortgage loans and other loan assets from UK Asset Resolution and of NRAM plc, the former Northern Rock mortgage business
- Acting for Allia, a social finance intermediary, and various charities and impact-led businesses in respect of the RCB Bond programme, a means of raising unsecured debt finance institutional and retail investors.
