Overview

Tyler Holt represents sponsor side and investor side clients, with experience spanning private equity, real estate, credit and infrastructure funds. Tyler works across the liquidity spectrum on both open ended and closed ended products and has experience with bespoke hybrid funds, funds of one, conduit vehicles and other innovative fund structures.

Tyler advises sponsors on matters relating to the formation, structuring and ongoing operation of private investment funds, and represents institutional investors in connection with fund investments across a range of asset classes. His practice also includes advising on fund regulatory matters and ongoing structuring considerations for established platforms and new vintage launches.

Tyler spent six months on secondment to Macquarie Asset Management in their Real Assets division, assisting their in-house legal team on a wide range of product offerings and transactions.

Fund Sponsor Representation

Macquarie Asset Management: advising on the establishment of its recently launched private equity strategy.
Barings: advising on fund formation and fund regulatory matters across asset classes, including its fourth-generation global special situations fund, third-generation North American private loan fund and first-generation open-ended capital solutions fund, including the establishment of rated feeders.
DRA Advisors: advising on the fundraising, structuring and ongoing management of its value-add real estate funds.
A U.S.-based investment management firm: advising on multiple vintages of wealth-to-alts funds in the venture capital space, including structuring, fund documentation and downstream investments.

Limited Partner Representation

Several large U.S. corporate pension trusts: advising on investments in private investment funds, including private equity, venture capital, credit and real estate funds.
A leading U.S.-based global investment management firm: advising on multiple balance sheet investments into digital asset funds.

Other Representation

A major global bank: advising its private wealth and alternative investments group on forming multiple conduit vehicles for investment in globally recognized private equity funds.
A major global asset manager: advising on establishing funds-of-one to facilitate investment across multiple products by major Latin American pension funds.

Education, Qualifications and Languages

Tyler holds a Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, where he edited the Brigham Young University Journal of Public Law.

He also holds a Master of Music from Rice University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Utah.

He speakes French (working proficiency).
