Overview

Vincent specializes in Dutch and European employment and pensions law, and heads the employment and pensions practice in the firm’s Amsterdam office.

 

Vincent advises and represents employers on the full range of employment and pensions issues, including individual and collective dismissals, works councils, amending employment terms and conditions, collective labour agreements, employee benefits, takeovers, pension fund disputes and equal treatment. 

 

Work highlights

Vincent has advised on the employment and pensions aspects of many major corporate transactions. These include advising:

  • Unilever on the unification of its legal structure under a single parent company, Unilever PLC
  • Delhaize, the Belgian-headquartered international food retailer, on its EUR 28 billion merger of equals with and into Ahold, its Dutch-headquartered equivalent
  • Mediahuis on its public takeover of the Telegraaf Media Group
  • ThyssenKrupp on its proposed steel joint-venture with Tata Steel
  • Just Eat on the combination with Takeaway.com N.V. to form Just Eat Takeaway.com N.V.
  • TDR Capital on its EUR 5 billion sale of LeasePlan to ALD, creating a leading global player in mobility
  • Visa on its acquisition of The Currency Cloud Group Limited, a fintech company that provides innovative foreign exchange solutions for cross-border payments
  • Cerberus Capital Management: advising on the sale of its affiliate's interest in Worldwide Flight Services to SATS (Asia’s leading provider of food solutions and gateway services) for an enterprise value of EUR 2.25 billion.

Professional experience

Vincent completed a doctoral thesis on employment and pensions law at the University of Amsterdam and regularly writes in legal journals, including the Pension Case Law Journal (PJ), the Employment Law Journal (ArbeidsRecht) and the Employment Law Practice Journal (TAP).

Education and qualifications

Vincent studied Dutch law at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, including a year at the University of Manchester, and obtained a post-graduate degree in pensions law from VU, Amsterdam.

He speaks English and Dutch.
