Directors’ remuneration reporting: proposals for change

In a wide-ranging consultation on modernising corporate reporting, the government proposes an overhaul of UK financial, non-financial and corporate governance reporting. The goal is to have a proportionate and effective reporting framework, which supports economic growth and the UK’s international competitiveness. 

In this blog post we consider the significant changes to the reporting requirements for quoted companies’ director remuneration, which have been proposed with these aims in mind.

The consultation closes on 30 November. The government aims to publish its response by 31 May 2027. It will be some time, therefore, before we have final proposals and clarity on the timescales for this wholesale change to directors’ pay reporting.
