Álvaro is a managing associate in the Tax department in Madrid. He has broad experience in tax advice in the fields of private capital, both national and international mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, business restructurings and structured and business financing, leveraging a sophisticated understanding of Spanish, European, LATAM and global tax laws. He has also broad experience in tax modelling and tax insurance.
He has advised in the tax side of restructuring and M&A transactions of some of the most relevant Spanish and international groups, on cross-border matters, with a special focus on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, capital markets, tax insurance and financing structures.
He is also a member of the Spanish Private Equity Association and has participated in the drafting of the Spanish carried interest laws, and has also advised in the structuring of the carried interest and sponsor’s structures of many private equity funds in Spain.

Álvaro obtained a double degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas. He continued his studies, earning an LLM in Spanish and International Taxation, also from Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
