Carolina is an Associate in the Lisbon Finance Division in its Finance and Energy & Infrastructure practice.
From the outset she has been developing her practice in big law firms with a focus on Banking, Finance and Corporate Law. Carolina advises national and international clients such as banks, governments and corporate clients that operate in the financial, energy, infrastructure, pharmaceutical and tech sectors on national and cross-border matters, involving several jurisdictions, such as Angola, Mozambique, Luxembourg, and the UK, and including innovative issues related to metaverse, crypto currencies and tokens.
In terms of Banking & Finance, she is experienced in banking and capital market operations, both on regulatory and transactional levels, financing transactions, including the issue and placement of debt instruments on the market, capital increase transactions, structuring and negotiating facility loans, revolving facilities, upsizing loans, real estate financing, acquisition of loan portfolios refinancing, shipping loans, and private security offerings, and securitisation transactions. In terms of Corporate Law, Carolina advised on incorporation, amendment and dissolution of companies, share capital transactions, transfer of shares, share purchase agreements, merger, demerger, among other matters arising from the daily operations of a company.
She is experienced in assisting clients in complex regulatory environments and dealing with national and foreign market regulatory authorities such as CMVM, CSSF and EIFO, as well as financial regulatory entities such as the Bank of Portugal.
Furthermore, Carolina has experience in IP litigation, drafting the legal documentation for IP Litigation proceedings, conducting legal research and analysis to address client inquiries and concerns.
Carolina joined the Lisbon office of Linklaters in 2025 as Associate in its Finance Division, working in the Finance and the Energy & Infrastructure practice.
She started her legal career in 2021 as Trainee Lawyer at the local law firm VdA - Vieira de Almeida in its Banking, Corporate and Litigation departments. Before that she had done a summer internship at the Lisbon office of Uría Menendez in 2018. At VdA she became an Associate Lawyer in 2023, specialising in the Banking and Finance practice areas.
She did a secondment in Copenhagen, Denmark, at the law firm Gorrissen Federspiel in 2025, having gained experience there in legal advice on banking operations and transactions, and the drafting and amendment of LMAs.
Carolina holds a Law Degree of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (2015-2019). She furthermore obtained an LL.M. Degree in European Private Law at the University of Amsterdam (2020-2021).
She is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2023.
Carolina speaks Portuguese and English.
