Overview
Lucy Fergusson is a partner in Linklaters’ Corporate team in London with long experience of equity capital markets, cross-border public M&A, corporate governance, and general securities law matters. She focuses on ensuring that Linklaters’ clients are best placed to deal with a range of corporate advisory issues, including the impact of new regulations on governance, disclosure, risk and compliance. She is one of the Firm’s leaders for knowledge and learning, shaping how the firm shares and develops legal insight.
Lucy is a member of the Company Law Committee of the City of London Law Society and supports knowledge sharing across the wider legal community. She has worked with the government and industry bodies on policy development, thought leadership and the legal implementation of change. She also contributes to books and periodicals and speaks at conferences on topics related to equity capital markets and corporate governance.

- Guided clients through major IPOs and secondary market transactions, covering a range of industry sectors
- Advised leading UK corporates and banks on public mergers and acquisitions, including high profile cross-border transactions
- Led the Linklaters team responding to Brexit-related legal challenges for companies and financial institutions
- Supported companies through rapidly changing disclosure and governance rules, keeping them compliant and competitive
- Worked with regulatory bodies on the drafting of their rules and regulations
- Provided advice to boards on directors’ duties, risk management and regulatory issues in response to market reforms
