Mark Gordon is a Partner and, as of November 1, 2026, will be Managing Partner of the Americas and Co-Chair of Global M&A at Linklaters LLP, based in New York. He focuses on advising public companies and major leveraged buyout firms in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, takeover defense, restructurings, corporate governance and securities law matters.

In addition, Mark regularly represents public company boards in preparing for, responding to and defending against shareholder activism.
Before joining Linklaters in 2026, Mark was a Partner in the Corporate Department at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where he worked for 32 years, 24 as a partner.
In addition to his work with clients, Mark is also the Robert B. and Candice J. Haas Lecturer in Corporate Finance Law at Harvard Law School, where he has taught an advanced Mergers & Acquisitions course annually since 2009.

Mark received his B.A. magna cum laude from Yale University, and his J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard University. While at Harvard, he was executive editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and was a member of the winning team in the Ames Moot Court Competition.
