Mary focuses her practice on advising institutional investors in connection with investments in private investment funds across a range of strategies, with a particular focus on insurance company investors. She regularly supports clients through the fund due diligence and negotiation process, advising on key legal terms. Mary also represents fund sponsors regarding the formation and operation of private investment funds, including advising on the fundraising process, preparing offering and governing documents and assisting with the formation of onshore and offshore investment structures. She was selected as one of the firm’s AI delegate lawyers representing the New York funds group, where she focuses on developing tools and approaches that help teams work more efficiently. Following a secondment in the firm’s London office, Mary also brings a strong cross-border perspective and international relationships to her matters.
Mary holds a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She also has a B.A., summa cum laude, in government from Georgetown University.
She is fluent in Korean.
