Overview

Pascal specialises in insurance and banking supervisory law, securities trading and investment law. He has a special focus on advising insurance undertakings on M&A transactions, including run-off transactions, reorganisations of insurance groups, reinsurance arrangements, governance and solvency capital requirements, as well as insurance distribution.

Experience

Allianz: advising on the acquisition of
- the insurance portfolio of Baloise/FRIDAY in Germany and France,
- iptiQ's European property and casualty insurance business
Fosun: advising on the sale of the bank Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe to ABN.
BVV: advising on the spin-off of the administrative services to the newly founded subsidiary BVV Pension Management.
A Swedish investment firm: advising on the acquisition of a (substantial) minority stake in a Swiss insurance group
Several run-off insurance groups: advising on the bidding process on the acquisition of life insurance run-off portfolios.
Several insurers on their issuance of Restricted Tier 1 and Tier 2 instruments
NORD/LB on their restructuring and recapitalisation
Several international investment banks on their strategic considerations in light of Brexit in particular on licensing/European Passport issues, corporate governance and risk management as well as compliance and AML matters

Beyond the Office

Pascal joined Linklaters as an Associate in 2018 and was elected Managing Associate in 2022.

Pascal is ranked by Legal 500 Germany 2025 for insurance law.

Education, Qualifications and Languages

Pascal Mildahn studied law at the University of Osnabrück, the Georg-August-University Göttingen and the University of Hull.

He speaks German and English.
