Overview

Rachel leads the Firm’s global ESG practice. She has deep expertise and exceptional breadth of experience advising on existing and incoming ESG regulation and soft law standards, ESG strategy and disclosures, sustainable finance products and frameworks, ESG governance and risk management and on stakeholder activism, litigation risk and crisis management.

Rachel also advises on complex ESG matters in the context of M&A, IPOs and financing transactions. She has a background in advising on the project development and financing aspects of energy transactions and has particular expertise in environmental, social and security issues on energy projects, including the application of international sustainability standards.

She has been recognised as the go-to advisor on ESG matters in The Lawyer Hot 100 list as well as Next Generation Partner in the Environment and Corporate Governance by Legal 500.

various businesses on the design of their ESG governance arrangements and frameworks, including at board and executive levels.
a consortium of ECAs and commercial banks on environmental and social issues relating to the Yamal and Arctic LNG Projects.
a range of major corporates on the application of soft law human rights standards, including on impact assessments, governance reviews, and UNGP-compliant grievance mechanisms.
the United Nations Global Compact and its Global Corporate Counsel Initiative on the role of in-house counsel in fostering sustainable business.
