Overview

Rachel is a Managing Associate in our Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice. She has a broad range of experience across competition, public law/judicial review disputes, commercial litigation and arbitration.

Rachel has acted on disputes before the High Court, Competition Appeal Tribunal, and Court of Appeal in England & Wales, in addition to arbitral tribunals. She has acted for clients across a range of sectors, including utilities, technology, and finance.

Work highlights

Rachel's experience includes:

Advising a major global payments technology company on thousands of individual actions brought before the Competition Appeal Tribunal in the UK by claimants which allegedly have suffered loss as a result of alleged anti-competitive conduct.
Defending a bank against allegations that bank employees manipulated foreign exchange markets and acted so as to trigger certain stop loss orders.
Defending claims brought by a Chinese state-owned entity (a manufacturer of aluminium) against a European energy company, concerning a sales agreement entered into between the parties for the sale and purchase of alumina.
Assisted a bank in application for sanctions authorisation in relation to project financing involving a liquified natural gas complex in a certain district of the Russian Federation.
Advising a water company on judicial review of an Ofwat decision.
Defending Microsoft in collective proceedings alleging abuse of dominance in the market for cloud services.
