Verity is a Counsel in the Financial Regulation Group in London and a key member of the firm's contentious regulatory practice. She has extensive experience advising major financial institutions (including retail, private and investment banks, asset managers, investment platforms, electronic money institutions, listed companies and senior individuals) on their most complex regulatory and compliance matters, with a particular focus on contentious regulatory issues.
Verity regularly leads on multi-faceted matters involving regulatory enforcement investigations (including representation before the FCA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee), internal investigations and reviews and skilled person reviews under s 166 FSMA. She has deep experience of parallel and dual-track proceedings involving multiple regulators and jurisdictions, and of advising on the interplay between regulatory investigations and related liability, including large-scale group litigation and industry-wide redress. Her matters span a wide range of subject areas of current regulatory focus, including systems and controls, governance, market conduct, prudential issues, operational resilience, individual accountability and conflicts of interest.
