Our pro bono mission

CSR is a central pillar of the Linklaters identity at each of our 31 offices. In Paris, pro bono activities have been among our top priorities for over 20 years, and more recently we have also added cultural patronage initiatives.

The Linklaters Foundation, created in November 2015, enshrines our pro bono commitments at the heart of our development strategy, on an equal footing with our other barometers, such as financial indices. This Foundation, designed to underpin the firm’s dedication to public interest projects, serves to underscore Linklaters’ strong corporate vision of a socially responsible company, both within its own environment and the legal profession at large.

The Foundation promotes the firm’s DNA in terms of CSR: long-term commitment in responsible projects.

Long-term pro bono commitments

The Linklaters Foundation will marry the savoir faire and skills of our staff as it seeks to support project instigators, encourage and participate in positive, collective and worthwhile movements, and simply be committed to others.

However important such commitments may be, they are only meaningful because they form part of a long-term support programme: supporting a charitable project or cultural mission is not simply a question of offering assistance for a number of years, but also of being in regular contact with those in charge, to encourage and advise them. 

Ongoing commitment to two areas

In line with the programmes carried out to date and the firm's values of innovation and creativity, Linklaters Foundation will focus on two main areas:

  • inclusive education, to combat the various forms of exclusion through education, help with job seeking and returning to work and support for entrepreneurship; and
  • cultural patronage, by helping institutions fund major exhibitions in the field of contemporary art and curating a photography exhibition on show at our premises.
