Overview

Barbara is specialised in advising both national and international companies, investors and banks on real estate issues. She is experienced in complex single asset and portfolio transactions in all asset classes including sale-and-leaseback transactions. Her areas of expertise cover aspects of the entire real estate life cycle, from acquisitions through (re)financings, leasing, property and asset management to sales and restructurings.

Work highlights

Barbara has advised on many significant cases. These include representing:

  • Aermont Capital: advising on the sale of (i) the skyscraper “Marienturm” in Frankfurt to DWS / NPS with a total volume of €800+ million and (ii) the neighbouring office building “Marienforum” to Generali.
  • Barings Real Estate: advising on the acquisition and financing of the office complex "Machtlfinger Höfe" in Munich.
  • Blackstone: Blackstone: advising on the acquisition and financing of numerous logistics assets and portfolios worth billions of Euros as well as on the sale of the logistics platform Logicor with a value of over €12.25bn.
  • BNP Paribas REIM: advising on its investment in the "Quantum Light Industrial I" fund that holds six light industrial properties worth €264m and on the acquisition and financing of the office buildings "Deichtor Office Center" and “Kallmorgen Tower” in Hamburg and several healthcare objects.
  • Catella Real Estate: advising on the acquisition of the project development “Auf AEG” in Nuremberg in different development phases and in different steps and other office objects.
  • LaSalle Investment Management: advising on the acquisition of the office building “Morrow” in Frankfurt and the real estate portfolio “ElseBella” in Munich.
  • MEAG, the real estate asset manager of Munich RE: advising on the acquisition of the €400+ million retail portfolio “Touchdown”
  • Savills IM Savills IM: advising on the sale of the office portfolio “Max & Merle” to WealthCap, the sale of various individual properties and on the acquisition of a large office complex in Munich.
  • Union Investment: advising on the bidding process for the acquisition of the “Millennium Portfolio” from Generali Lebensversicherung with a value of over €2.5bn, on the “Medicus” portfolio consisting of six mixed-use properties in Berlin and Dusseldorf, the project development and acquisition of the object “Media Works” and the acquisition of the new German patent and trademark office in Munich (both with a volume of over €500m), and on the acquisition of “Ericus-Contor” in Hamburg.
  • WealthCap: advising on the acquisition and financing of the object "Gewandhaus" in Ludwigsburg and the acquisition of the Brain Lab AG headquarter in Munich.
  • Several national and international banks: advising on the financing and refinancing of several real estate transactions.

Professional experience

Before joining Linklaters, Barbara worked as a Senior Associate at two international law firms, including a secondment to its Luxembourg funds department.

Barbara is a member of the Munich Bar Association, as well as the women in the Real Estate Industry Incorporated Society ("Frauen in der Immobilienwirtschaft e.V.")

Education and qualifications

Barbara studied law at the University of Bayreuth and the University of Birmingham, where she obtained a diploma in English law. She also studied law at German University for Verwaltungswissenschaften Speyer. Barbara carried out her legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Bamberg.

She speaks German and English.
