Overview

Dionne has several years of experience advising clients on the full range of restructuring and insolvency transactions, including complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings, schemes of arrangement, restructuring plans, distressed M&A transactions, contingency planning and options analysis. 
Prior to joining Linklaters, Dionne worked as in-house counsel in the investment banking legal division of a leading global investment bank. 

Work highlights

Dionne has advised on several high-profile restructurings and insolvencies, as follows:

  • Cell C Limited: advised a committee of secured creditors on the restructuring of c. ZAR 7.3 billion of debt issued by South African telecommunications company Cell C Limited.
  • Naviera Armas Group: advised Spanish-headquartered Naviera Armas Group, a leading ferry operator for passenger and freight transportation services in the Canary Islands and across the Mediterranean on its rescue financing and subsequent c. €1 billion debt and equity restructuring implemented by way of a Spanish law homologación.
  • Nordic Aviation Capital: advised an ad hoc group of lenders to the world’s largest regional aircraft lessor, Ireland-based Nordic Aviation Capital in connection with the restructuring of c. $6.3 billion of debt obligations implemented by way of voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
  • intu Properties PLC: advised intu Properties PLC, the UK’s second largest shopping centre and its subsidiaries in connection with the restructuring of the group’s financing arrangements.      
  • Seven Energy International Limited: advised Seven Energy International Limited in connection with the investment in, and acquisition of the Group by Savannah Petroleum plc by way of a pre-packaged administration sale.
  • Deoleo, S.A.: advised Deoleo S.A., the Spanish headquartered global olive oil production and distribution business in connection with a recapitalisation and full balance sheet restructuring involving, among other things, a Spanish law homologación.

Education and qualifications

Dionne has a Bachelor of laws degree from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and a Master of laws degree from Cambridge University.

Dionne co-authored an article on structuring considerations for a debt for equity swap in the July/August 2022 edition of Butterworths Journal of International Banking and Financial Law.
