Linklaters appoints new Head of Re:link

Linklaters has appointed Martin Laing as the new Head of Re:link. Martin will lead the team to further grow the platform, ensuring that Linklaters’ clients have swift access to a community of high-quality consultant lawyers to meet their flexible resourcing needs.

Martin played an instrumental role in launching Re:link in 2019 and has helped to significantly grow the platform over the last three years into the respected provider of high-quality flexible resource it is today. Looking ahead, Re:link is focussing on optimising the experience of both clients and consultants when engaging with Re:link and is achieving this by growing its team and investing in new technology.

Martin started his career as a private equity lawyer at Linklaters alliance partner Webber Wentzel in Johannesburg, before joining the corporate team at Linklaters. Following several roles elsewhere, Martin returned to Linklaters to help build the Re:link community.

Commenting on the rapid growth of Re:link and next steps, Martin Laing, Head of Re:link said:

“What I loved from the start was Linklaters’ belief that we can offer lawyers flexibility and choice in their careers without compromising on quality. Linklaters’ clients come to us with their most challenging and niche resourcing needs, which means we can provide our consultants with access to some of the most varied and challenging work in the market.”

On Martin’s appointment, Jas Mundae, Global Head of Alternative Legal Services said:

“Linklaters is driven not only to provide the best legal advice to our clients but to do so with high efficiency. We work hard to achieve this by using the firm’s global network of alternative resources to address our clients’ needs. Martin has shown passion and drive for Re:link and I am looking forward to working closely with him in this next phase."
