Linklaters introduces new flexible bank holiday scheme

Linklaters is introducing a new scheme to offer its people in the UK more flexibility around public holidays.

The UK Bank Holiday Exchange Scheme will come into effect from 1 May and enable UK employees to opt-in for the choice to take up to three bank holidays at another time that works for them, in the same holiday year. The public holidays that fall within the Scheme and can be exchanged include the August Bank Holiday, Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The Scheme is an extension of Linklaters’ commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive culture – enabling people to have more flexibility to celebrate the religious and cultural observances that are important to them, without having to take annual leave.

Angela Ogilvie, Chief HR Officer at Linklaters, comments:

“We know that flexibility and agility at work is important to our colleagues, and it supports our inclusive culture. This scheme reflects the diversity of cultural and religious events celebrated across the firm and enables people to flex their UK bank holidays to mark those events that are most meaningful to them, without having to take annual leave.”
