Overview

Inês Gamito is an Associate in the Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group of the Lisbon Corporate Department. 

She assists both domestic and international clients that operate in a wide range of market sectors, including telecommunications, financial, infrastructure, services, distribution and retail. Her expertise covers Competition Law matters such as restrictive practices, abuse of dominant position, merger control, state aid, and regulatory matters, such as in the insurance sector.

In addition to the advisory work, Inês also assists clients in administrative procedures such as merger control notification procedures before the Portuguese Competition Authority and appeal proceedings before the Portuguese Competition Court.

Professional experience

Inês started her legal career in 2021 as Junior Associate at the Lisbon office of Linklaters, where she became an Associate in 2023, working in the Antitrust & Foreign Investment Group of its Corporate Department. 

Inês has also gained experience working in the Corporate, Finance and Dispute Resolution Departments of the Lisbon office during her traineeship.

Education and qualifications

Inês holds a Law Degree of the Faculty of Law of the NOVA University of Lisbon (2021). In addition to the academic program, she also attended a variety of additional courses and workshops on Competition Law, Insurance Law, Law & Technology, and Transnational Economic Crimes. 

During her university studies, Inês was highly engaged in extracurricular activities. She was actively involved in the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA), acting in various roles, e.g. as President and Secretary General of ELSA NOVA Lisboa, as member of an international Legal Research Group, and in the NOVA Law Student’s Union. She also participated in various EU Law and GDPR moot court competitions.

She furthermore did an internship at the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

She is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2023.
