Julien advises on public mergers and acquisitions, as well as counselling clients on general corporate law matters and providing commercial law advice.

Julien has particular knowledge of the tech sector, including the fintech sector, with direct experience of working in a technology company and gaining expertise in the legal and regulatory environment covering the fast-changing area of technology business.

Julien was seconded to the firm’s London office in 2022. He was seconded to Ardian, the French investment and private equity company, in 2013.

Julien has advised on many market-leading deals. These include advising:

  • Stellantis on the acquisition of artificial intelligence framework and intellectual property of CloudMade
  • Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance and Stellantis on their acquisition of the activities of ALD and LeasePlan in six European countries
  • Resonance on a number of Series Seed and Series A investments
  • InfraVia Capital Partners on its fibre-to-the-home joint venture, nexfibre, with Liberty Global and Telefónica
  • Bel and Unibel on the friendly tender offer filed by Unibel and Bel on the sale of Leerdammer and related rights to Lactalis
  • Tor Investment on the appropriation of the shares in Baccarat and subsequent tender offer and squeeze-out
  • Ardian and Global Infrastructure Partners on their offer for Suez, in the context of Veolia’s public offer for Suez
  • I Squared Capital on its JV with Rubis in relation to Rubis Terminal
  • Montagu Private Equity in relation to the acquisition by a consortium composed of Montagu Private Equity, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and Téthys Invest of Galileo Global Education Group

Education and qualifications

Julien holds masters in business law from Paris Dauphine University and in banking and financial law from Paris II Panthéon Assas, as well as gaining a Msc in management from ESSEC Business School.

He speaks English and French.
