Overview

Becky is a highly regarded Litigation and Investigations Partner and has advised on a wide range of multi-jurisdictional disputes during her career.

In addition to her experience acting on complex and multi-jurisdictional disputes and litigation, Becky has a broad Investigations practice. She has extensive experience in crisis management investigations, and she frequently advises on internal, regulatory and public investigations.

She has advised on investigations conducted by the FCA, SFO, FRC, ICAEW, Insolvency Service, the Pensions Regulator and the Environment Agency, and has represented clients in relation to UK parliamentary select committee inquiries and public inquiries.

She has experience across a number of sectors including financial services, professional services, healthcare, commodities, water, oil and gas, mining, telecommunications, sport and retail.

Becky has also worked in-house on secondment in the Litigation and Investigations Team of an Investment Bank.

Work highlights
  • Advising Big Four Firms on a number of FRC and ICAEW investigations, and internal investigations, in relation to a range of insolvency, accountancy and audit disputes.
  • Advising Core Participants and Interested Parties in relation to the Grenfell Tower and Covid Inquiries.
  • Acting for an international commodity trading and mining company on an internal investigation into allegations of employee misconduct and fraud.
  • Advising a water company on a large-scale criminal investigations and proceedings brought by the Environment Agency.
  • Conducting an internal investigation and advising a major UK-based pharmaceutical company in relation to product liability issues.
  • Acting on the multi-jurisdictional investigation and enforcement action taken by the SFO and FCA in relation to allegations of FX manipulation at a major investment bank.
  • Advising a retail multinational in relation to various inquiries including the joint Parliamentary select committee inquiries into the collapse of BHS and the settlement of the BHS pensions dispute with the Pensions Regulator.

Professional experience

Becky has previously undertaken a secondment to Barclays Litigation, Investigations and Enforcement Team in London.

Becky is one of the members of our Graduate Recruitment Panel. Becky has also been involved in a number of pro-bono projects at Linklaters including working with Disability Law Service and the Mentoring Works scheme.

Education and qualifications

Becky has a LLB in Law from the University of Nottingham and completed her LPC at the University of Law in Moorgate, London.
