A silver celebration – how Linklaters’ Madrid office has flourished for 25 years

Law firms are not generally without their share of ego, but at Linklaters it is all about teamwork...This is not a place for hierarchies.

The Madrid legal market is known for being well-established, with leading firms often having more than 50 years of history. Usually, only firms with this kind of long-standing presence reach the top tier.

Linklaters is a notable exception. This year marks 25 years since the firm opened its Madrid office—a short time compared to many competitors. Despite this, Linklaters is now recognised as one of the top firms in Madrid.

To mark the anniversary, on the alumni website we are joined by Madrid office Managing Partner, Jose (Pepe) Giménez, and finance partner, Francisco (Paco) Sainz-Trápaga. They reflect on Linklaters’ achievements in Spain, share their vision for the future, and discuss the culture of excellence that has driven the firm’s rapid rise in Madrid.
