Linklaters advises ING on investment in Van Lanschot Kempen

Linklaters has advised ING – a global financial institution with a strong European presence – on completing the acquisition of a 17.6% stake in Van Lanschot Kempen N.V. Van Lanschot Kempen is a specialist wealth manager serving private, institutional, and investment banking clients, operating primarily in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Through this transaction, ING has increased its total shareholding in Van Lanschot Kempen to 20.3%. In March 2025, ING acquired an initial direct stake of 7.2%, raising its total ownership to 9.9%. Following regulatory approval, ING acquired a further 10.4% in July 2025. The investment represents an attractive financial opportunity for ING and is a significant milestone in executing its strategy to further strengthen its position in private banking and wealth management.
