Linklaters adds to its international arbitration team with Matthew Hodgson

Linklaters is pleased to announce that Matthew Hodgson has joined the firm as an arbitration partner and Head of Public International Law in London – further bolstering the firm’s international arbitration offering. Matthew’s arrival builds on a number of recent high-profile hires for Linklaters’ Litigation, Arbitration and Investigations practice, including the recent addition of litigation partners Adeel Mangi, Muhammad Faridi, Diana Conner and George LoBiondo in New York, newly appointed Global Co-Head of International Arbitration, Joseph R. Profaizer, and Senior Counsel, Adam Weiss, in Washington, D.C.

Matthew is a leading international arbitration practitioner, specialising in complex disputes arising from cross-border investments. He has appeared as counsel and advocate in high stakes commercial arbitrations under all major arbitral rules. He has also acted for investors and States in more than 20 investment treaty disputes under the ICSID and UNCITRAL Rules and has sat as arbitrator in HKIAC, ICC, LCIA and SIAC claims.

Matthew has represented clients in a broad range of sectors including energy and infrastructure, life sciences, oil and gas, mining, real estate, technology and telecommunications. He has acted for private equity and funds clients in numerous claims arising out of M&A transactions and joint venture/shareholder disputes. Matthew joins from A&O Shearman where he was a partner in its international arbitration group.
