Linklaters advises Mayflower Wind on acquisition of OceanGrid from Anbaric

Deal will bring clean offshore wind energy to Massachusetts

Linklaters has advised Mayflower Wind Energy LLC on its acquisition of Massachusetts OceanGrid, LLC from Anbaric Development Partners, LLC for the development of clean energy infrastructure projects in North America.

Mayflower is a 50/50 joint venture between Shell New Energies US LLC and Ocean Winds Offshore North America LLC. Anbaric is a majority employee-owned, U.S.-based company focused on planning and scaling renewable energy in the Northeast.

Mayflower is developing an offshore wind project off the coast of Massachusetts which when fully built out, will supply over 2,000 megawatts of offshore wind, enough to power nearly a million homes. Mayflower’s acquisition of OceanGrid will provide Mayflower with the transmission infrastructure required to interconnect its project to the distribution network.

The Linklaters team was led by partner Vijaya Palaniswamy alongside partner Scott Sonnenblick and senior associate Pierre-Emmanuel Perais with support from senior associate Will Kim and associate Lizzeth Merchan.
