European Offshore Wind Deal of the Year - Dogger Bank A and B

We advised on the construction, development and £5.5 billion project financing of the Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B phases of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, owned by SSE Renewables and Equinor New Energy. The wind farm will be the largest offshore wind farm in the world, once all three phases are complete.

European Refinancing Deal of the Year - Antwerp Gateway

We advised Antwerp Gateway NV (the concessionaire in relation to the Antwerp Gateway terminal in the Port of Antwerp) and its majority shareholder, DP World Antwerp Holding NV, on the refinancing of Antwerp Gateway's debt facilities through a common terms private placement/bank debt solution.

European Waste to Energy Deal of the Year - Protos

We advised the senior and mezzanine lenders on the £285m financing of a state-of-the-art EfW facility in Cheshire, UK. Once built, it will be capable of treating 400,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste per year and generate up to 49.9 MWe.

European Renewables Portfolio Refinancing Deal of the Year - Iberwind

We advised the lenders on the €754.5m refinancing of the Iberwind portfolio of Portuguese wind farms, recently acquired by Ventient Energy.

European Export Finance Deal of the Year - Northvolt

We advised on the US$1bn equity investment into Northvolt AB in 2019 and subsequent US$600m equity investment in 2020, including the associated US$1.6bn multi-sourced debt financing, for this 16GWh gigafactory set to be Europe’s largest battery factory in Sweden.

European Digital Infrastructure Fibre Deal of the Year - G.Network fundraising

We advised Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd, the UK's largest private pension scheme by way of assets, on its equity investment of up to £295m over 6 years in G.Network. 

European Digital Infrastructure FttH Deal of the Year - THD Loire-Atlantique

We advised on the synthetic sale to Vauban Infrastructure Partners of a portfolio of SPVs holding FTTH network concessions operated by Axione.

European Oil & Gas Deal of the Year - Amur Gas Plant

We advised on the financing of the Amur Gas Processing Plant in Russia, a project that plays a key role in the transition from coal-fuelled power and heat generation in the region.

Asia Pacific Offshore Wind Deal of the Year - Akita Port and Noshiro Port

We advised Marubeni on the Yen100bn offshore wind project in Akita Port, the first commercial scale offshore wind project in Japan.

Asia Pacific Export Finance & Project Finance Deal of the Year - Changfang & Xidao

We advised Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) and Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (KSURE) on the NT$90bn project financing of the 589 MW Changfang and Xidao offshore wind project in Taiwan. This was the first Japan ECA financing in the Taiwan offshore wind sector. 

Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Deal of the Year - HK offshore LNG

We advised CLP on the development of a FSRU to power project in Hong Kong, including advising on the project structuring and risks, LNG procurement, chartering of an FSRU and related services, shareholders agreement for Regas SPC and a terminal services agreement.

MENA Oil & Gas Deal of the Year - Project Galaxy

We advised multiple bidders in a consortium on their US$20.7bn investment into Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s natural gas pipelines – the largest ever foreign direct investment into the United Arab Emirates.

MENA Renewables Solar Deal of the Year - Al Dhafra Solar PV

We advised the lenders in relation to a shariah compliant commodity murabaha equity bridge loan and related hedging arrangements provided to shareholders for the Al Dhafra 2GW Solar Project.

Latin American Export Finance Deal of the Year - Amadeus JV

We advised Duratex S.A on the US$1bn execution of a joint venture agreement with Austria's Lenzing AG (the world's leading producer of cellulose fibers) to build and operate a 450ktons dissolving wood pulp plant in Brazil.
