Kathy’s practice encompasses a broad range of contentious and non-contentious issues relating to intellectual property rights.

Work highlights include advising on:
 
  • an international car rental business’s divestment of its car rental business in Brazil, including a long-term trade mark licensing agreement for co-branding, and its investment in, and strategic cooperation with, a major Chinese car rental company, including a brand cooperation agreement
  • transactions involving complicated intellectual property separation issues for large multinational organisations, including financial institutions
  • complex copyright issues including those arising out of the establishment of an internet trading platform; use of third party copyright works in internal and external communications; and the implications for clients of a range of legal developments including the EU Copyright Directive
  • computerised and internet gaming issues and disputes
  • a broad range of intellectual property issues in the administrations of Lehman Brothers and Waterford Wedgwood, among others
