Overview
Charlotte is a partner in the Global Energy & Infrastructure Group and has over 20 years’ experience advising on project finance transactions specialising in UK infrastructure projects, particularly those within the regulated sectors, such as energy, water, rail and airports and more recently projects arising from the energy transition. Charlotte leads the Linklaters’ UK Government offering. She is also a specialist in regulatory matters, nuclear, transmission projects and international trade.
Work Highlights
Charlotte’s energy and utilities experience includes advising:
- the UK Government on the development of the four new nuclear plants in the UK at Bradwell, Sizewell, Wylfa and Moorside
- Engie on a joint venture with Toshiba Corporation and Westinghouse Electric for the construction of a new nuclear power plant at Moorside and Engie’s subsequent exit
- NeuConnect on the NeuConnect Interconnector between the UK and Germany
- Elia and National Grid on the Nemo Link – the first electricity interconnector between the UK and Belgium
- FABLink on its interconnector between France, Alderney and Britain
- Thames Water on the development of the regulatory and contractual framework for the Thames Tideway Tunnel
- National Grid on the sale of a 61% equity interest in its UK gas distribution business to a consortium of long-term infrastructure investors
- on the acquisition by Greencoat UK Wind and GMPF and LPFA Infrastructure of 49.9% of the Clyde SPV from SSE Renewables Onshore Windfarm
