Overview
Josh represents clients on corporate transactions, including auctions, mergers, equity and asset sales, joint ventures, restructurings, spinoffs and carve-outs, as well as on general corporate governance and securities matters.
Josh has particular experience working with private equity sponsors and funds, including on complex cross-border and international transactions, and his domestic and international practice spans a number of sectors, including digital infrastructure, industrials and manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals and financial services.
Josh also advises sponsors on the management of their existing portfolio companies, including on equity financings, liquidity events and add-on transactions, and previously worked in our London office.
He is recognized as a “Leading Associate” for U.S. M&A: large deals ($1bn+) by Legal 500 2025 and as a “Rising Star” by Legal 500 2023 and Euromoney 2022. Legal 500 noted that as a key member of Linklaters’ New York M&A team, clients say he “possesses an excellent combination of technical expertise, interpersonal skills and strong ethical values . . . superb communication skills that enable him to advocate effectively in negotiations.”

- Rio Tinto: advising on its US$6.7bn acquisition of Arcadium Lithium.
- DigitalBridge: advising on a variety of transactions related to portfolio company Vantage Data Centers, including the investment by GIC and MEAG of US$1.5bn for a significant minority stake, AustralianSuper’s €1.5bn investment for a significant minority stake, the carve-out and sale of a portfolio of stabilized EMEA assets, the acquisition by Silver Lake Partners of a significant majority stake from a co-investor and related investments, the acquisitions by Vantage Data Centers of Etix Everywhere and Next Generation Data, and on the initial formation and expansion of Vantage’s EMEA, Japan and APAC investment platforms.
- A private equity sponsor focused on real estate investments: advising on the sale of a significant minority stake in its management business to an institutional investor specializing in minority GP investments.
Thornburg Investment Management: advising this private investment manager with over US$46bn in AUM on the formation of a private credit joint venture with Bow River Capital. - Delticus Group Holdings: advising the leading corporate liability acquisition platform in connection with its acquisitions of legacy liabilities from both Electrolux SA and Honeywell International.
- A top sovereign wealth fund: advising on a variety of transactions relating to its investment in a travel/hospitality business, including acquisitions, recapitalizations and a business combination with a SPAC and associated listing on the NYSE.
- Montagu Private Equity: advising the London-based private equity house on its carve-out acquisition of Informa’s Emerging Portfolio Fund Research business and the related employee incentive plan, as well as its acquisition of Jane’s, an aerospace and defense information business, from IHS Markit and the subsequent bolt-on acquisition by Jane’s of Avascent Analytics and RWR Advisory Group.
- Hg Capital: advising on the acquisition by its portfolio company Ideagen of ProcessMAP, a software platform providing environmental, health and safety business analytics.
- Linde: advising on its fusion with Praxair and related reorganizations and multiple regulatory-driven divestitures to Messer Group, Matheson Tri-Gas, LyondellBasell Industries and others.
