Overview

Laura advises local and international clients on all aspects of commercial real estate in Belgium, in particular regarding any (asset and corporate/M&A) real estate transactions, structuring of real estate development projects, construction law, sale-and-leaseback operations, lease and other occupation agreements. She has an interest in sustainability questions applied to real estate and has experience in public and administrative law.

Work Highlights

Laura has advised on a wide range of real estate transactions and public law matters. These include advising: 

  • John Cockerill with the constitution of Rely, a joint venture with Technip Energies active as provider of integrated and competitive green hydrogen solutions.
  • Wind4Wallonia SA, as borrower on the project finance of 5 wind parks located in Wallonia
  • Cofinimmo on the contribution of Cofinimmo’s branch of activities encompassing all its office assets.
  • Intermarché on the acquisition of a Belgian retail group, owning more than 80 supermarkets.
  • A family with the sale of the SA Metropole, owner of the Metropole hotel, a five star hotel located in Brussels. 
  • Integrale in relation with the sale of all its shares in 3 companies owning the property rights or the rights in rem regarding 5 nursing and care homes. In addition, Integrale disposed of the company owning the rights in rem regarding the office building 'Bruxelles Environnement/Leef-milieu Brussel’.
 

Professional experience

Laura has been an Associate at Linklaters since 2019.

She is a member of the steering committee of Young Upsi BVS, the professional organization for the real estate sector.

Education and qualifications

Laura studied law at the Université de Liège and at the Universiteit Gent within the framework of the Erasmus Belgica Programme. She holds a LL.M degree from Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge.

Laura speaks French, Dutch and English.
