Overview

Liliane Gam is a Managing Associate in the Antitrust and Foreign Investment Group at Linklaters, where she advises on all areas of EU and French competition law, including merger control, cartel proceedings, abuse of dominance cases, State aid matters and compliance issues. She also advises on foreign investment control. Liliane has been involved in high-profile merger, cartel and State aid cases and has advised large corporates and financial sponsors across a wide range of sectors, with a specific focus on the energy, automotive, real estate, retail, consumer goods and healthcare sectors.

Work highlights

Liliane has been a key adviser in a number of significant merger control and antitrust matters. These include advising:

  • PSA: on the merger with Fiat.
  • Takeda: on the sale of TachoSil to Corza.
  • Linde: on the €590m acquisition of the homecare business of Air Products and on the €66bn merger with Praxair.
  • Saint-Gobain: on its acquisition of Sika.
  • Swiss Post: on the creation of a joint-venture with La Poste to carry out most of their activities in the area of international mail delivery services.
  • A State: in relation to its financial support for the development of a floating LNG storage unit and a combined cycle gas fired power plant.
  • A French bank: on the financing of an offshore wind farm project.
  • An electricity producer: in the context of national proceedings for the recovery of State aid

Education and qualifications

Liliane holds a Master in European and International Business Law from Paris Dauphine University and an LLM in European Legal Studies from Cardiff University.
