Overview
Nicolas Zacharie is a counsel in Linklaters’ Antitrust & Foreign Investment practice, based in Paris.
With over 20 years of experience, he specialises in French and EU competition law, with particular strength in merger control, anticompetitive practices and State aid, advising clients across many business sectors, especially the pharmaceutical, industrial and retail sectors.
Nicolas supports his clients at every stage of complex cross-border merger reviews and related compliance matters, helping them manage regulatory risk and safeguard the value and timing of their deals.
He regularly advises on anticompetitive practices, including horizontal and vertical agreements, cartels and abuse of dominance, and supports clients in dawn raids and subsequent procedures as well as in designing and implementing commercial strategies and competition compliance programmes that work in practice.
He is also active in State aid matters and on the European Commission’s new Foreign Subsidies Regulation.
With his extensive experience, Nicolas has in-depth knowledge of how the French Competition Authority and the European Commission work and maintains good relationships with both authorities.
Nicolas lectures on competition law at Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas University, Paris Dauphine University and Sciences Po, and contributes to the Unilateral Practices Chronicle of the leading publication Concurrences.
