Overview

Jennifer is a Managing Associate in Linklaters’ Antitrust & Foreign Investment practice in London. She has over 10 years’ experience advising clients on a broad range of UK and EU antitrust matters, including complex UK and global merger control, CMA market studies, antitrust issues, as well as foreign investment control.

Jennifer also has specialist expertise in public procurement, subsidy control and regulatory matters (including in the energy and water sectors).
Jennifer has advised clients across a variety of industries, with a particular recent focus on the technology, financial sponsors, energy and utilities sectors.
Jennifer has extensive overseas experience through her secondment to the Competition, Consumer and Regulatory team at Allens in Sydney in 2019, as well as previous secondments to the Linklaters’ Brussels and Washington D.C. teams.

Jennifer also completed an in-house secondment to the competition team at Siemens Healthineers in 2021.

Experience

Highlights of Jennifer’s recent experience include:

Alphawave: advising on the national security and antitrust aspects of its $2.4bn takeover by Qualcomm Inc.
Viasat: advising on the UK merger control aspects of its $7.3bn acquisition of Inmarsat. After an in-depth Phase 2 inquiry the CMA granted unconditional clearance for the transaction.
Pennon Group and Bristol Water: advising both parties on the CMA investigations into the completed acquisition of Bristol Water Holdings UK Limited by Pennon. The CMA conducted parallel merger reviews under the Enterprise Act and the special water mergers regime, the latter resulting in undertakings in lieu being agreed at Phase I.
SSE plc and Equinor ASA: advising on the parties’ joint acquisition of Triton Power (holding three thermal power plants in England) including a UK merger analysis, UK NSIA notification and EU phase I process.
Capita: advising on the competition and foreign investment aspects of the sale of Capita’s Pay360 payments business.
Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA): advising on the A$15bn merger between VHA and TPG in relation to proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia for approval of the merger (while on secondment at Allens).
Nestlé: advising on the CMA’s Infant formula and follow-on formula market study.
Vistry Group: advising on the CMA’s market study into the housebuilding market in England, Scotland and Wales.
KPMG: advising on the CMA’s market study into the statutory audit market.
Visa: advising in relation to the Payments System Regulator’s market review into the supply of card-acquiring services.
Advising industry players on matters relating to water and gas price controls.

Education, Qualifications and Languages

Jennifer has Law degree from the University of Cambridge (St Catharine’s College 2009-2013). Her studies at Cambridge included an Erasmus year studying at La Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain.

In 2014, she completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London. She also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law from Kings College, London (Distinction).

Jennifer speaks English and conversational Spanish.

Beyond the Office

Jennifer is passionate about developing the next generation of legal talent and is actively involved in graduate recruitment for the firm as well as mentoring trainees and junior associates.
