HKEX updates the Guide for New Listing Applicants

On 29 May 2026, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) published its fifth update (the Update) to the Guide for New Listing Applicants. This Update includes clarification and key changes in four areas (i) director’s suitability assessment, (ii) the independence of sophisticated investors, (iii) a new exemption from the submission on FINI of ultimate beneficial ownership information for qualifying institutional placees, and (iv) guidance on complaints against listing applicants, including disclosure and due diligence expectations.
