Linklaters advises NW Storm, France's first energy transition unicorn, on its latest fundraising, valuing the group at €1.5 billion

Linklaters advised NW Storm, a French leader in battery electricity storage and charging stations for electric vehicles founded by Jean-Christophe Kerdelhué in 2018, on its €300 million fundraising from RGreen Invest, a management company dedicated to investments in green infrastructure and technologies.

NW Storm develops, installs, and operates the JBox® solution, a battery-based electricity storage system, as well as IECharge®, a high-power charging solution for electric vehicles, coupled with the JBox® storage unit.

Thanks to this fundraising, NW Storm, valued at €1.5 billion, becomes the first French unicorn in the energy transition field. This financing will enable the company to develop its energy storage network and increase its capacity to 2,000 JBox® sites by 2026, i.e. a capacity of 2,500 MW.

The Linklaters Paris team was led by Bruno Derieux and Nicolas Le Guillou, partners in Corporate / M&A, with Zoé Giovanetti and Baptiste Fondeur, associates; Mylinh Pham and Athanase de Guitaut, associates in Energy & Infrastructure, on public law and financing aspects; Géric Clomes, partner, and Cécile Boulé in Employment Law; Saadoun Alioua and Marine Hennequin in Real Estate Law, as well as Edouard Chapellier, partner in Tax, and Lucille Cazala, associate.

Over the past years, Linklaters has acted on numerous high-profile transactions related to the energy transition, particularly in the renewables and carbon-free sector.
