Pay Transparency and Equal Pay: The European Landscape

Lack of pay transparency has been identified as a major hurdle in closing the EU’s gender pay gap. The EU has taken a bold step forward by introducing the EU Pay Transparency Directive which came into force in June 2023. Member States will have three years to transpose it into national law. In our client publication, we look at some of the key European jurisdictions and the degree of change that will be required to comply with the Directive’s obligations.
